1. Does Making Careers offer both temporary and permanent employment opportunities?
Yes, we have clients who offer full time employment, with all the benefits, and clients who have long term and short term temporary needs. An exciting alternative is temp to hire, where you work as a temp for a client until you both know that you, the client and the job are a good fit. Then you transition into full employment, knowing that you're going to be happy and well rewarded for your professional work.
2. What kinds of facilities and companies could I be working at?
We work mainly within the healthcare industry. Our clients have facilities all across California, and include hospitals, nursing homes, insurance companies and physician groups. We're increasing our client base constantly, so we can find jobs for you that are right on your doorstep.
3. When can I contact Making Careers' staff?
Our offices are open 8am - 5pm, Monday through Friday.

5. How do I find out what jobs you have available?
You can, of course, phone us to discuss job opportunities, and you can also click on the Job Search buttons on our website and apply for a job online.
6. What qualifications does Making Careers require?
Qualification and certification requirements vary with the job. Many of our professionals are nurses who possess a valid California Nurse's License. The experience you need will vary from case to case, although generally our clients require between 1 and 3 years minimum.
7. How do I become a Making Careers Employee?
You can call us at (800) 350 1471 and ask to speak to one of our recruitment specialists. Alternatively, why not take the first step by registering online. Then, whether or not you apply for a job, we will call you to discuss the details and bring you on board. You only need to register once, and you can return at any time to browse our job lists and make further applications.
8. What does it cost to register and do I have to pay an agency fee to work with Making Careers?
All the work we do to further your career is totally free to you. You've got absolutely nothing to lose.
9. If I contact you today, how long will it be before I will have a job?
After we have checked your qualifications and determined that you are matched to our clients' requirements, it's our intention to find you a high quality position as soon as possible. This in often with a week.
10. How do I get information about my assignments?
Your Making Careers Career Advisor will contact you by phone, email or fax as appropriate to give you all the details you need prior to starting a new assignment.
11. What will my pay rate be?
Your hourly rate will depend upon your qualifications and experience. We pay some of the highest rates in the industry and always negotiate on your behalf for the highest possible salary.
12. How do I get my salary?
You will be paid weekly, by check or by direct deposit, if you prefer. Taxes will be deducted at source, and you will receive your W2 form at the end of the year.
13. Is there an incentive for referring other
professionals to your company?
We pay a referral bonus to any employee who refers a colleague to us, once the referred person starts work through Making Careers. Ask your Career Advisor for details.
